MinGenTec promotes new opportunities for companies
The Lusatian network initiative MinGenTec aims to attract companies for internationalisation, innovation, and networking through a marketing campaign. The network seeks to advance structural change in the region.
To this end, MinGenTec (Mining & Generation Technology – Made in Germany) will launch an advertising campaign in mid-July across regional print and online media, including the Lausitz Magazine, Wochenkurier, Lausitzer Rundschau, the East German business magazine NUVO, the digital newsletter of VDI energie + umwelt, and on LinkedIn. The goal is to highlight the opportunities presented by structural change and particularly to motivate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to actively pursue the fields of innovation, internationalisation, and networking.
„With this campaign, we aim to showcase what is emerging in the region: new perspectives, strong networks, and concrete support for companies in transition. We expect this to provide an additional boost for Lusatia,“ says Sebastian Saule, Managing Director of the Economic Development Agency of Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB).
A particular focus is on the idea competition „Lusatia Goes International“, which was launched for the first time in 2024. Three strategies for internationalisation will be awarded with a total prize money of 30,000 euros. Participation is possible until 22 September 2025.
„Internationalisation is a central lever in structural change. With the idea competition ‚Lusatia Goes International‘, we are providing companies from the region with support for their step into international markets this year – practical, motivating, and with concrete added value,“ emphasises Jens Warnken, President of the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and, like WFBB Managing Director Saule, a jury member of the idea competition.
With attention-grabbing motifs and a clear message, the MinGenTec network invites companies to explore international avenues, develop new technologies, and strengthen their networking – in short: to actively shape the change in Lusatia.
